In vrijwel heel Nederland lagen in 2019 de berekende concentraties stikstofdioxide (NO2 Stikstofdioxide ) en fijnstof (PM10 fijnstof ) onder de Europese grenswaarden. Plaatselijk wordt de grenswaarde voor stikstofdioxide nog overschreden. Dit komt voornamelijk door druk verkeer in de binnenstad, of bij intensieve veehouderijen.
